The circular economy has found its professional intermediary. Reflaunt, the resale technology platform that powers circular programs for Balenciaga, Harvey Nichols, and other luxury players, has launched Folio—a dedicated resale service designed specifically for personal shoppers, stylists, and wardrobe managers who manage high-net-worth clients’ closets on a daily basis.
The timing aligns with a broader professionalization of wardrobe management. As ultra-high-net-worth individuals increasingly treat their clothing collections as circulating assets rather than static inventories, the role of the personal shopper has expanded from acquisition advisor to portfolio manager—and Folio gives them the tools to execute that expanded role efficiently.
Folio works through a streamlined loop: the stylist or client flags items for resale via the app, Reflaunt collects the pieces, each item is authenticated and listed across multiple resale channels simultaneously, and the stylist earns a commission on the final sale. The service eliminates the friction of photographing, pricing, and managing listings across disparate platforms.
The platform addresses a structural gap in the luxury resale ecosystem. While consumer-facing platforms like The RealReal and Vestiaire Collective have matured, there has been no equivalent service for the professionals who are already gatekeepers of the most valuable wardrobes: the personal shoppers who know exactly what their clients no longer wear and when those pieces would command premium resale pricing.
The launch of Folio suggests that the next frontier of luxury resale is not consumer education but professional enablement. The individuals who dress the wealthiest clients already have the trust and the access—what they have lacked is the infrastructure. Reflaunt is betting that providing that infrastructure will unlock a new volume of high-value inventory that consumer-facing platforms have never been able to access.
For brands, the service offers a controlled channel for second-life inventory. When a personal shopper lists a client’s pre-owned luxury pieces through Folio, the items enter Reflaunt’s authenticated ecosystem, ensuring that the brand’s secondary market remains traceable and quality-controlled even when the transaction happens outside the brand’s own resale program.
