PINK, the Victoria’s Secret sub-brand targeting younger consumers, has collaborated with JanSport on a back-to-school capsule that merges collegiate nostalgia with the current appetite for functional accessories reimagined as fashion statements.
The JanSport partnership is part of a broader PINK strategy to redefine itself beyond the mall-kid associations of the 2010s. The sub-brand has been working to capture the Gen Z consumer through size-inclusive activewear, campus-adjacent marketing, and collaborations that carry genuine cultural resonance rather than logo-slapping.
What distinguishes this collaboration from the dozens of heritage-brand crossovers saturating the market is the integration timeline. PINK has timed the drop to align with late-summer shopping, positioning the capsule not as a fashion moment but as a functional purchase that happens to carry design credibility — a smarter play than dropping a nostalgic collab in November and asking consumers to sit on it until June.
The collection centers on a reworked JanSport backpack — the brand’s classic Big Student silhouette — in PINK’s seasonal color palette of ballet-slipper pink, cream, and a muted sage green. The partnership extends into coordinating apparel: hoodies, joggers, and bralettes that feature co-branded crest patches inspired by fictional school insignia.
For JanSport, the collaboration opens a retail channel — PINK’s online and in-store footprint — that the backpack brand has not historically accessed, providing a distribution lift that extends well beyond the one-season novelty of a co-branded drop.
