The Danish label mfpen celebrated ten years on the runway with a show that doubled as a launch pad, teasing a New Balance collaboration on a Made in USA 992 variant.
The SS27 collection, titled ‘Deadlines,’ unfolded in Copenhagen with the label’s signature precision, elongated tailoring, quiet nylon layers and a palette held between ink and bone.
The 992, New Balance’s chunky 2006 silhouette, appeared in a collaborative build that traded the sneaker’s usual grey for mfpen’s muted tones.
The New Balance tie-up gives the Copenhagen label a foothold in the sneaker conversation, where Scandinavian minimalism has become a commodity.
