Bernard Arnault, the chairman and chief executive of LVMH, has joined the social media platform X, a direct-to-public communications strategy that arrives as he faces renewed scrutiny over the governance and future leadership of the world’s largest luxury group.
Industry observers noted the irony of Europe’s most private billionaire taking his case to a platform known for its unfiltered public discourse, interpreting the shift as a sign that the succession question is becoming harder to contain within boardroom walls.
The move follows a sharply worded rebuttal by Arnault to a six-part investigative series in Le Monde that examined the family dynamics and succession planning at the heart of the luxury behemoth.
The succession debate has intensified as Arnault’s five children each hold senior positions across the group’s portfolio of more than seventy houses, from Louis Vuitton to Tiffany to Sephora.
