Chopova Lowena staged its SS27 collection as a bowling night, a knowing, affectionate gesture that let the designers thread folklore through the most mundane of British pastimes. The conceit gave the runway a warmth that offset the deliberate strangeness of the clothes.
The bowling theme was more than set dressing. It anchored a collection about community, luck, and the rituals that bind outsiders together, themes the designers have explored since founding the brand on the premise of upcycling deadstock into deeply personal garments.
The designs held the label’s signature tension. Hand-won skirts fastened with climbing carabiners, layered Bulgarian folk textiles against technical nylon, and a play of base-layer knits that suggested both heraldry and sport. Nothing sat still; each outfit read as a talisman in motion.
Commercial gravity held. The recognizable carabiner skirts and the patterned wool jackets that made the label a cult favorite remained, now joined by Y2K-adjacent layers and a few sharper, dressed-up propositions for new retail accounts.
