Coach Turns 85 With Stuart Vevers Reimagining the Archives, Not Repeating Them

Coach opened its anniversary year by showing on September 9, celebrating 85 years in business with executive creative director Stuart Vevers at the helm.

The result leans on confidence, the ease that comes from eighty-five years of craft behind a house that no longer needs to prove its relevance.

Vevers has spent his tenure turning Coach into a heritage label with genuine cultural currency, its bags ubiquitous in first rows and on streets alike.

The collection stretched familiar Coach codes, heritage leather, downtown attitude and the brand’s unmistakable New York sensibility, turning them inside out and piecing them together anew.

Vevers made clear he wanted an anniversary without a retrospective, reinterpreting the archives for Spring 2027 rather than restaging them.
