There is a particular way a dancer stands in a rehearsal room, weight settled and spine long, that has nothing to do with performance.
The anchor of the collection is the bolero, a short, soft shrug that sits at the shoulder and leaves the waist line uninterrupted.
Around it sit the pieces a barre class actually requires: a fitted bodysuit, a wrapped cardigan, leg-warmers cut slim rather than chunky.
For a different context, trade the leg-warmers for wide trousers and keep the bolero. The reference recedes and the proportion remains.
The stylist’s note here is about restraint. Dance dressing works when one element references the studio and the rest does not.
