Tapestry’s annual sales have crossed $8 billion, reaching a target the accessories group had set for itself on a three-year horizon in a single year.
With the target banked, attention turns to whether Tapestry raises the bar or defends what it has built. The coming year will test whether the group can grow past the milestone rather than settle into it.
The owner of Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman has ridden a long Coach-led recovery while stabilizing Kate Spade’s product and store network. Management set the $8 billion goal in the multi-year plan unveiled to investors, and the brand engine delivered early.
The result validates a strategy of focused brand building over acquisition-led growth, particularly after the group’s blocked attempt to buy Capri Holdings. Coach’s strength has carried the portfolio, but Kate Spade’s progress will determine whether the momentum holds.
According to WWD’s reporting, the company hit its three-year target in the first year of the plan. The milestone arrives alongside continued expansion in the group’s direct-to-consumer channels.
