A centrepiece, an off-white double-faced silk satin tulip corset hand-embroidered with ivory glass beads and irregular pearls, was matched to a floor-length fluted skirt that could stop a wedding crowd in its tracks.
Fabrication went further than before, with corseted looks overlaid in Vienna Chantilly lace and tulle, hand-embroidery, and lush three-dimensional florals built from cut bead and metal sequins.
The show unfolded as a performance at New York Live Arts, a giant head statue and shirred statue watchers building a world of past, present, and future generations.
