Zegna Sales Jump 17 Percent, Shaking Off Luxury Headwinds

Ermenegildo Zegna Group reported a 17 percent increase in second-quarter sales, a performance that decisively outperformed luxury sector averages and signaled that the Italian group’s multi-brand strategy is gaining traction even as broader market headwinds persist. The growth was driven by strength across the group’s three main labels: the core Zegna brand, Thom Browne, and Tom Ford Fashion.

The Zegna brand itself posted a 12 percent revenue increase, powered by strong demand in the United States and the Middle East. The brand’s focus on elevated casualwear — a category that has become the engine of luxury men’s spending — proved resilient even as more formal categories softened. The Oasi Cashmere and Triple Stitch sneaker franchises continued to perform as the brand’s most recognizable commercial anchors.

Thom Browne, which Zegna acquired full control of in 2024, outperformed expectations with sales growth of 22 percent. The brand’s expansion into womenswear and its growing presence in Asia — particularly Korea and Japan — have broadened its revenue base beyond its heritage in men’s tailoring. Zegna CEO Ermenegildo Zegna described Thom Browne as “still in the early stages of its global potential” during the earnings call.

The results stand in sharp contrast to the broader luxury market, where several major conglomerates have reported slowing growth or outright contraction. Zegna’s performance suggests that the group’s strategy of operating multiple distinct brands — each with its own creative identity and target customer — provides a buffer against category-specific downturns that single-brand luxury houses cannot match.

Tom Ford Fashion, which Zegna licenses through a long-term agreement with the Estée Lauder Companies, grew 15 percent as the brand continued to establish its identity under creative director Haider Ackermann. The brand is still in its post-Tom Ford transition phase, and each quarterly result is watched closely as an indicator of whether the label can maintain its cultural relevance without its founder at the creative helm.
