Veronica Beard Opens First Store in Paris

Veronica Beard has crossed the Atlantic. The New York-based label, known for its precise tailoring and the iconic dickey jacket, has opened its first Parisian outpost on the Rue Saint-Honoré, planting a flag in the neighborhood that houses the world’s most discerning luxury clientele.

The store occupies a 1,200-square-foot corner space in a 19th-century building, its facade restored to preserve the original Haussmannian proportions. Inside, the design is a study in American modernism translated for a French context: walnut paneling, hand-knotted wool rugs, and brass fixtures by a Brooklyn metalworker.

Early foot traffic has been strong, according to the brand, with local customers responding particularly to the label’s suiting category. The store also carries an exclusive capsule of dresses and separates designed with the Parisian wardrobe in mind, a sign that Veronica Beard is serious about earning its place on the street.

The timing aligns with a broader wave of American contemporary brands establishing European retail footholds. As European luxury houses expand in the United States, American labels are reciprocating, recognizing that physical presence in Paris confers a legitimacy that wholesale partnerships cannot replicate.

The collection edit reflects the dual identity of the new customer. Parisians will find the core ready-to-wear that built the brand — the structured blazers, the sculpted denim, the crisp shirting — alongside a curated selection of evening pieces that have been expanded specifically for the European market.

The sisters behind the brand, Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard, have long cited Paris as an aspirational market. ‘The Parisienne has a relationship with her wardrobe that is both more intentional and more playful,’ the duo said in a joint statement. ‘We wanted to be part of that conversation.’
