WANSIE’s Spring-Summer 2027 collection, titled “Ephemeral Currents,” takes the vocabulary of workwear — reinforced seams, oversized pockets, heavy-duty hardware — and recontextualizes it in fabrics and proportions that belong to a different register. The result is a line that nods to functionality without sacrificing the fluidity that defines the brand’s emerging identity.
Pockets are the collection’s narrative device. Each style carries them in unexpected locations — at the inner forearm on a shirt, along the back yoke of a vest, on the side seam of a pair of wide-leg trousers. The placement is not decorative; each pocket serves a specific function suggested by the designer’s observation of how people actually carry objects through their day.
The defining piece is a single-breasted jacket cut from a cotton-nylon blend that has been garment-dyed to produce a surface that looks worn from the first wear. The silhouette is generous through the shoulder but cinched at the waist through an internal drawstring, allowing the wearer to shift between a boxy workwear outline and a more tailored shape depending on the context.
Fabric selection reinforces the tension between industrial and delicate. Heavy cotton canvas appears alongside a paper-thin nylon that rustles with movement. The contrast creates a dynamic where the collection reads as simultaneously protective and vulnerable, a duality that the designer describes as “the texture of modern life — armored but exposed.”
