Stella McCartney Teams With Bugaboo for Multiyear Stroller Collaboration

Stella McCartney has partnered with Bugaboo on a multiyear collaboration to produce designer strollers built from recycled and bio-based materials. The tie-up pairs McCartney’s longstanding commitment to sustainable luxury with Bugaboo’s engineering expertise, marking one of the most significant cross-category collaborations in the parenting-lifestyle space.

The strollers will incorporate recycled aluminum frames, bio-based plastics derived from castor oil, and upholstery made from recycled polyester. The partnership commits both companies to a shared materials innovation roadmap, with each subsequent season’s iteration expected to increase the percentage of sustainable inputs.

For Bugaboo, the collaboration signals a broader strategy anchored around fashion-driven design. The Dutch brand has long been the stroller of choice for style-conscious parents, but the McCartney partnership elevates that positioning from implicit to explicit, bringing a named designer’s aesthetic vocabulary to a category that typically prioritizes function over form.

Stella McCartney’s involvement extends beyond surface-level design. The partnership includes joint development of accessories — diaper bags, changing mats, and carryalls — that extend the sustainable materials ethos across the full parenting kit. It is a rare example of a fashion designer treating parenthood as a complete design ecosystem rather than an afterthought.

The collaboration launches in spring 2027 across Bugaboo’s retail network and Stella McCartney’s stores. Pricing has not been announced, but both brands have indicated the collection will sit at the premium end of Bugaboo’s existing range, reflecting the materials investment and the designer name attached to each piece.
