One Mile Opens First Boutique in Melbourne

One Mile, the Australian fashion label founded by Sammy Robinson, has opened its first standalone boutique on High Street in Armadale, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution from online-only to omnichannel retail. The boutique, which opened with a private event attended by Australian fashion insiders, will carry the label’s full ready-to-wear range including its newest seasonal drop.

One Mile launched in 2019 as a digitally native brand with a focus on elevated wardrobe essentials—structured blazers, fluid trousers, sculptural knitwear—and quickly built a following among Australian women seeking refined minimalism with a contemporary edge. The move to physical retail represents a natural evolution for a brand whose customer base has been requesting in-person shopping experiences.

“Opening a physical space has always been part of the vision,” Robinson told RUSSH. “Online lets us reach customers across the country, but there is something irreplaceable about being able to touch the fabric, try the silhouette, and understand the weight of the garment. The store is really an extension of that philosophy.”

The Armadale location places One Mile in the heart of one of Melbourne’s most established shopping districts, surrounded by independent designers and premium boutiques. The space itself has been designed to reflect the label’s aesthetic: clean architectural lines with warm timber accents, tactile display surfaces, and a deliberate sense of openness that allows the clothing to speak.

The boutique’s opening collection emphasizes the tailoring and fabric innovation that have become One Mile’s signatures: double-faced wool coats with visible seam construction, silk crepe dresses with architectural draping at the shoulder, and cotton poplin separates with unexpected hardware details. Price points range from 200 Australian dollars for knitwear to approximately 1,500 dollars for outerwear.

The retail expansion comes as Australian fashion brands increasingly invest in physical flagship experiences after years of digital-only growth. One Mile’s debut store will serve as a testing ground for potential future locations in Sydney and Brisbane, should the Armadale boutique meet initial sales projections.
