The Five Indie Labels Defining the It-Girl Wardrobe in 2026

A handful of independent labels has quietly become the it-girl uniform of 2026, worn by the same celebrities who once dressed head-to-toe in the grandes maisons. The shift says as much about the economics of fashion as about its aesthetics.

Emily Dawn Long has converted editorial styling into artisanal, gender-fluid clothing, with the crocheted Wanda hat — worn by Kendrick Lamar and Brad Pitt — as its calling card. Zendaya reached for a vintage tee this spring; Alix Earle wore the label’s yellow dress on the cover of TIME.

Attega, the Barcelona-based label whose name is short for ‘Sincerely, Gabriela,’ builds unexpectedly sculptural pieces — tanks with attached boleros, puff-sleeved polos, lace-trimmed satin Bermuda shorts — most priced under $200. Dua Lipa wore its cowl-draped white tank at the World Cup final.

What unites the five is price and personality: statement clothing that rarely crosses the four-figure threshold, worn as a declaration of taste rather than budget. In an era of logo fatigue, the indie label has become the loudest signal of all.

Parisian label Alfie, founded in 2020 by Alice Fresnel, leads the pack with ’90s-inspired minimalism that fuses masculine tailoring and feminine draping. The house’s upcycled fabrics and deadstock sourced from French luxury maisons give its restraint a conscience; Hailey Bieber wore its fitted black skirt on vacation in Spetses this week.

Cou Cou Intimates, launched by Rose Colcord in 2021, builds delicate pointelle knits from certified organic cotton, drawing on vintage underpinnings; Olivia Rodrigo and Hailey Bieber both made its Rina Long Sleeve a fixture. Mimchik, founded in Los Angeles in 2022, rounds out the five with luxe leather jackets and sharp denim favored by Amelia Gray, Kaia Gerber, and Barbara Palvin.
