Barbour and JOURNAL STANDARD have teamed on a special-order Old Bedale that swaps the model’s outdoor toughness for a wool build with a lived-in, ready-to-wear feel.
That shorter cut is the practical hook. It pairs cleanly with slim trousers and balances just as well against wide-leg or heavier, high-volume bottoms, positioning a heritage silhouette for current styling.
The special order comes in a versatile black and a brown chosen to bring out the character of the wool itself, and is available for pre-order now.
The centerpiece is the fabric: a wool that carries the warmth of the fiber but reads as though it has been worn and washed for years, soft and relaxed rather than crisp.
Barbour’s pedigree backs the collaboration. The label was founded in 1894 by John Barbour in South Shields, England, and holds three Royal Warrants, and JOURNAL STANDARD channels that legacy into a piece designed for daily rotation.
Construction keeps the flap-pocket detailing that defines the Old Bedale shape, while the body is reworked to a trimmed, cropped length.
