The artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s women’s collections joined forces with Singer, the California workshop that restores and modifies classic Porsche 911s, to create a one-of-a-kind turbo-charged cabriolet in ivory white with precious-wood trim.
Ghesquiere’s automotive passion is long documented, from his 2014 campaign featuring an ultra-rare 1972 Maserati Boomerang concept to his John Lautner-designed home in Los Angeles.
The conversation between the house and the workshop began with a simple request: a detachable dashboard clock based on Vuitton’s Tambour watch, produced by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Switzerland.
From there the collaboration extended to the personalization of every functional element of the vehicle, applying Louis Vuitton’s leather craftsmanship and watchmaking expertise across the cabin, per Jean Arnault.
