Left On Friday Becomes Beach Volleyball’s First Fashion Sponsor

On August 21, the swim and beachwear label Left On Friday became the first apparel sponsor in Volleyball World history, signing on as the official apparel partner of the Beach World Series and Elite Beach events. The milestone places a sun-and-sand brand squarely inside sport.

The partnership signals a widening door for fashion labels into sports’ governing structures. Apparel sponsors are no longer confined to courtside, they are inside the competition itself.

Left On Friday built its name on low-rise, sun-smoothed swimwear worn well beyond the shoreline. Moving into official kit extends that language from holiday to competition.

Beach volleyball has long drawn a crowd that dresses for the sand and the camera. Sponsors have historically come from drinks, banks, and telecom rather than from the labels the players actually wear.

If the kit performs on the circuit, expect other sun-and-sport labels to follow. Beach volleyball may well become the new turf for swimwear’s retail ambitions.

The federation bet is that a brand born on the beach understands the sport’s atmosphere better than a corporate sponsor. Style, here, becomes part of the athletic brief.
