Nike and Our Legacy Build a Running Line From the Ground Up

Nike and Our Legacy Workshop have announced a collaborative running line, and the phrasing matters: built from scratch rather than recoloured off an existing shelf. The collection spans footwear and apparel, with technical performance and understated design held inside the same frame.

Expect the apparel to arrive with less fanfare than the footwear and to last longer in the wardrobe. The real test is whether a garment built for the road can survive a Tuesday in the city without looking like it has somewhere better to be.

What each partner brings is legibly different. Nike supplies the foam chemistry, the last shapes and the wear-testing apparatus that makes a running shoe honest over distance. Our Legacy brings a Scandinavian instinct for muted surface, generous cut, and the kind of restraint that reads as confidence rather than absence.

For a consumer the commercial logic is unusually clean. Performance footwear has spent a decade borrowing the language of fashion; here the traffic runs the other way, and the resulting pieces will sit as easily with a wool trouser as with shorts.

The silhouette emerging from that exchange is soft through the body and roomy at the shoulder, with seams placed where movement actually happens. Nothing announces its own technology.

Running remains one of the few categories where technical credibility is still checked by people who log actual kilometres. A collaboration that respects that check has a longer shelf life than one that treats the sport as a mood board.
