Vilebrequin and 3.Paradis Launch Surreal Summer 2026 Capsule

Vilebrequin, the Saint-Tropez–born swimwear house that has been synonymous with Riviera leisure since 1971, has partnered with 3.Paradis, the Parisian label known for its poetic, surrealist approach to menswear, on a summer 2026 capsule that reimagines the architecture of beachwear as a dreamscape. The collaboration, which launched during the Cannes Film Festival, represents an unexpected but oddly natural union between two brands that operate at different scales but share a commitment to craft, color, and the transportive power of clothing.

The capsule extends beyond swimwear into territory that neither brand occupies alone. Linen camp-collar shirts printed with the same surrealist motifs, drawstring trousers in a sand-washed cotton twill, and a woven beach tote large enough to carry a day’s provisions all speak to a broader ambition: to dress the entire arc of a Mediterranean day, from morning swim to sunset aperitivo. The palette is restrained by Vilebrequin standards—cream, navy, terracotta, and the soft gray-green of olive leaves—allowing the graphic elements to breathe without overwhelming the wearer.

The commercial viability of such a poetic concept might once have given a heritage brand like Vilebrequin pause. But the collaboration has proven that there is a substantial audience for swimwear that tells a story, that customers who might once have been content with solid-colored trunks are now seeking pieces that carry meaning, texture, and a point of view. The capsule sold through its initial drop within days, prompting both brands to accelerate plans for a second installment. In a season when beachwear has become one of the most competitive categories in fashion, Vilebrequin and 3.Paradis have shown that the most compelling edge is not novelty for its own sake but the willingness to dream out loud.

3.Paradis, founded by emerging designer Kilian Duval, has been building a reputation for collections that treat clothing as a medium for storytelling, drawing on references that range from 16th-century Flemish painting to Japanese folk textiles to the mechanics of early aviation. The partnership with Vilebrequin represents the brand’s first major collaboration with an established luxury house and marks a departure from 3.Paradis’s usual runway format into the more accessible territory of resort essentials. Duval has described the collection as “a letter to a friend in which we describe a perfect day at the beach”—an image of Arcadian simplicity filtered through a surrealist lens.

The collection’s centerpiece is a reworking of Vilebrequin’s iconic Moorea swim short, now printed with 3.Paradis’s signature motifs: doves in flight rendered in painterly brushstrokes, abstract topographical lines that evoke the meeting of sea and sky, and an all-over pattern of surrealist eyes floating across a backdrop of Mediterranean blue. The shorts are cut in Vilebrequin’s proprietary quick-dry microfibre, a fabric that has been refined over five decades to achieve a particular balance of softness and structural integrity, and are finished with 3.Paradis’s signature dove embroidery at the hemline—a detail that reveals itself only upon close inspection.
