Longchamp has unveiled a collaboration with textile artist Caroline Hélain that reimagines its signature Le Pliage totes and travel bags through her distinct lens. Each piece in the line is splashed with Hélain’s abstract textile landscapes, fusing everyday function with expressive color.
Longchamp keeps proving that the Le Pliage is less a bag than a canvas, and Hélain has filled it with landscape.
The bags work as the statement piece against quiet dressing, a cream knit or dark denim letting the color hold the frame. The scarves offer a lighter entry, tying the same artistic language onto a neutral coat or bag handle.
The printed tote is the anchor, its canvas carrying layered washes of color that move like woven cloth. The motifs extend to ready-to-wear as well, appearing on tees, dresses, sweaters and scarves that share the same palette.
The Le Pliage is one of fashion’s most democratic objects, a foldable nylon tote carried by everyone from students to museum directors. Artists have long been invited to leave their mark on it, and Hélain’s version continues that tradition with a painterly hand.
On travel days, the Le Pliage in Hélain’s print replaces a second carry-on, while the dress version moves the same artwork from hand to body. The collaboration proves an icon can be reimagined without losing its shape.
