Elysewalker Returns to Pacific Palisades

Elysewalker is going home. The Los Angeles luxury retailer will open a new flagship at Palisades Village on Saturday, part of the shopping center’s grand reopening after the fires that took the brand’s original location in the neighborhood.

By year’s end the company will operate nine Elysewalker stores across California and New York, with the Palisades location expected to become its number-two store within a year and to recover its former flagship volume within two to three.

For the wider industry, Elysewalker’s return is a case study in how premium independent retail rebuilds after catastrophe: restore the original promise, keep the same address, and let the neighborhood’s loyalty do the marketing.

The company’s contemporary concept, Towne by Elysewalker, will also reopen, restoring the two-store footprint the brand maintained before the disaster.

The bet is on community resilience as much as retail math. Walker has said she has zero doubt the neighborhood comes back and that retail thrives there again, a conviction the brand is backing with a full-format store rather than a pop-up.

For founder Elyse Walker, the return is deeply personal. This is where I started my business, she said, after ten years of expanding first to Newport, then Calabasas, New York and Napa, bringing her back to the corner where the company began in 1999.
