eYe Junya Watanabe MAN has teamed with The North Face on a capsule that overlays the designer’s deconstructive eye onto expedition-ready technical wear. The result dresses mountain-grade function in the oblique proportions Junya Watanabe is known for.
The Watanabe label has long treated sportswear and outerwear as raw material for a more conceptual form of construction, reassembling familiar garments into shapes that ask to be looked at twice.
The North Face brings the collaboration its deep archive of alpine performance fabrics, shells, and insulation, materials engineered for conditions rather than aesthetics.
The result is a testament to how far the once-utilitarian category has traveled, where the language of survival is now spoken fluently by the language of couture.
