Indochino is capitalizing on the strength of men’s tailored clothing with its boldest retail move in years: ten new showrooms across the United States in 2027. The Vancouver-based company will open the first six early next year in Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Columbus, Maryland; Ross Park, Pennsylvania; Brea, California; Roosevelt Field, New York; and Boca Raton, Florida, with the remaining four to be announced as sites are secured.
What remains to be seen is how far the showroom fleet can scale before cannibalizing itself. With ten more doors on the way, the brand is effectively betting that proximity converts curiosity into measurement, and measurement into repeat tailoring.
The tailored-clothing category has been one of menswear’s quiet winners, lifted by weddings, workplace formality creep, and a return to garments that fit properly. Indochino’s growth suggests the made-to-measure model translates well beyond its early online-only identity.
Each showroom offers individual styling with the company’s Style Guides and a wide range of fabrics for its made-to-measure suits, shirts and outerwear. The model skips inventory in favor of measurement and craft, keeping real estate costs lean while delivering a product off-the-rack retailers cannot match.
Founded in 2007 by two University of Victoria students frustrated by the cost and fit of off-the-rack suiting, the brand now operates roughly seventy showrooms across the United States and Canada. Green joined as CEO in 2015 and has steered the company through e-commerce consolidation and back toward physical retail.
