Alexander McQueen will stage its Spring/Summer 2027 runway show in London on September 20, marking the brand’s return to the British capital after a prolonged absence from the city’s fashion week calendar. The decision aligns with new chief executive Gianfranco D’Attis’s mandate to reposition the house under Kering’s broader restructuring of its luxury portfolio.
D’Attis, who took the helm on June 3, brings experience from his tenure at Alexander McQueen as commercial director before leading Palm Angels. His appointment is part of a wider reshuffle at Kering, which has been working to stabilise brands such as Gucci and Saint Laurent while sharpening the positioning of its secondary houses.
For the house itself, the London show offers a narrative reset. It returns the brand to the city where Alexander McQueen built his legend, threading a line between the founder’s provocative legacy and the commercial discipline that Kering now demands.
The September show will take place during London Fashion Week, a platform that has struggled to retain major heritage houses in recent seasons. McQueen’s return injects a dose of gravitational energy into the schedule, potentially drawing international press and buyers back to a calendar that has increasingly ceded ground to Milan and Paris.
