Mowalola’s Air Jordan 14 Capsule Reworks the Ornament and the Feed

Mowalola Ogunlesi has brought her singular vision to an Air Jordan 14 capsule, a collaboration that pairs the parent model with a modified, mule-style build and loads both with the designer’s unmistakable ornament. The release is currently expected around September 18.

The capsule extends a partnership between the Nigerian-born London designer and Jordan Brand that has grown steadily, and it lands with a signature twist: reconfiguring a sport utility icon into a silhouette that reads closer to an elegant clog than to athletic kit.

Whether the capsule sells on its rework or its recoiling nostalgia, Mowalola has again made a sneaker into a provocation, and the feed, in every sense, will not look the same.

The collaboration reads as a broader signal for the category: heritage Nike and Jordan models are increasingly being handed to designers willing to deform them, trading archival fidelity for a personality the retro market alone cannot supply.
