David Webb is heading back to the Hamptons for the second consecutive summer with a residency at LDV at The Maidstone Hotel in East Hampton. Open from August 1 to September 7, the immersive salon reimagines part of the historic inn as an intimate jewel box.
The residency is part of a broader pattern in luxury retail: brands staging themselves as destinations rather than storefronts. For a house whose animal bracelets and carved stones read as art objects, the hotel salon is a natural extension of the collection’s display logic.
The return engagement suggests the formula works. If the second summer performs like the first, expect the traveling salon to become a recurring fixture in the house’s calendar, and a template for other jewelry maisons eyeing seasonal retail.
Fulk’s interiors, with their layered pattern, lacquer and theatrical color, provide the perfect frame for David Webb’s saturated gems. The partnership pairs the designer’s maximalist eye with the house’s legacy of sculptural, wearable color.
The Maidstone’s summer crowd is the target audience: collectors who summer in East Hampton and already treat jewelry as an extension of dressing. The salon converts a shopping trip into a social one.
The installation, created in collaboration with designer Ken Fulk, takes inspiration from the house’s iconic Madison Avenue flagship. Guests can shop a curated selection of the jewelry house’s bold enamel, coral and gold pieces within a setting that echoes the brand’s dramatic interiors.
