Calvin Klein announced on Thursday that Veronica Leoni is departing as creative director of Calvin Klein Collection after four seasons, with a successor to be named in due course.
She was the first woman to lead the New York house, arriving with a résumé spanning Jil Sander, Phoebe Philo’s Céline, Moncler and The Row, plus her own label Quira, which she paused to take the job.
The open question for PVH is whether Collection works as a halo that lifts the wider business or as an expense the market no longer rewards.
Collection has had two creative directors since the founder retired in 2003: Francisco Costa, then Raf Simons, whose 205W39NYC chapter ended in 2018 and was followed by the retreat from the runway.
Her exit leaves another prominent vacancy in a season defined by them, and lands while Calvin Klein sales were down 7 percent year over year in the second quarter.
Leoni was appointed in May 2024 and showed her first collection at New York Fashion Week in February 2025, ending the brand’s seven-year absence from the runway.
